Walt Disney Concert Hall, LA Artwork of the architectural masterpiece designed by Frank Gehry
This Architectural Drawing of Frank Gehry’s masterpiece would be the perfect gift for an architect, someone who has travelled to LA, or someone who has a strong interest in architecture. The crosshatching technique used here expertly varies in width and line weight to give the impression of shadows and light cast on the metal façade. This is one of the leading examples of Deconstructivist Architecture.
The Walt Disney Concert opened in October of 2003 and was an instant success! Seating 2,265 people along with housing several other functions. It is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lost Angeles Master Chorale. As in all theatres and musical venues, the acoustics of the building has to be carefully considered. This was designed by Minoru Nagata.
The construction for the project started in 1987 after a healthy donation of 50 million dollars was pledged by Lillian Disney for the creation of a Concert Hall. Gehry was selected for the job with his ground breaking designs is 1991. Originally, the façade was design to be stone, however due to cost implications, this had to be changed to stainless steel, a happy accident if you ask me!
Original art pieces are the best way to catch the character of the building and the drawing style. Faint pencil lines may be seen in some original drawings, however, this simply add story and process to an art piece. Originals are all ‘one off’ drawings however the artist retains the right to the copyright of the piece and is still able to sell prints of the piece.
This artwork is an A4 piece, 210mm x 297mm. You will receive a high quality Original piece which is framed with a Black Gallery frame (including a white mount).
